Message from Philippa Baker
Philippa sends heartfelt thanks to everyone who is helping them through this difficult time. So many kind people are involved with providing lifts and delicious meals, doing laundry and many other things. As a family, they are also aware of the amount of prayer which is being offered up on their behalf.  She, Andrew and the boys are grateful to a degree it is hard to express in words.  Thank you all so very much.

SECRETT'S FARM TOUR: Thursday 1st June, 4.00pm
Charles Secrett has kindly offered the local community the opportunity to go behind the scenes of his Hurst Farm site in Milford and see what's growing. It should be a very interesting tour; the farm not only supplies their own farm shop and PYO but also top restaurants in London, and Charles will no doubt be an entertaining host! The tour is primarily aimed at adults, but if older children would find it of interest they are very welcome to accompany their parents. There'll be refreshments and a treat to bring home included afterwards. The whole event has been generously offered free of charge but you must book to reserve a place. Please contact: Cathy Brook editor@thebridgeonline.org.uk.

A perfect summers evening…
have you bought your tickets yet? Midsummer music at Malthouse Farm 24th June, 6.00pm - 9.30pm
The evenings are getting lighter, the sun is promising to shine and Godalming is starting to look its glorious best! Only a month to go and tickets are still available for this simply lovely event...enjoy a relaxing evening of opera, the joyful strains of jazz and classics from the West End and Gilbert & Sullivan at Midsummer Music at Malthouse Farm. Bring your picnic, drinks and something to sit on (sorry - no gazebos as the site is sloping). Tickets are a mere snip at just £22 per person and can be purchased easily online at www.bhcgodalming.org/tickets/malthouse or for more information email malthouse@bhcgodalming.org.

Have you collected yours yet?
There are still copies of the Bridge to be collected from the back of Busbridge Church, plus a collection of various plates and containers from some recent events - if these are yours, please collect them sooner rather than later as we like a tidy looking church, especially with all the summer weddings coming up. Thank you!

Great Godalming Duck Race!
Our very own Penny Naylor is taking the opportunity to attend the Great Godalming Duck Race on Saturday 20th May to promote the marvellous Befriending Network. Perhaps you were intending going along with your own duck? Or maybe this is the incentive to encourage you? Now keep an open mind about this request...Penny needs a collection of hardy souls who would be prepared to don the ’Buddy the dog’ costume at the befriending stall. The event is taking place at the Phillips Memorial Park and runs between 11.00am and 4.00pm - just supporting Penny for an hour of that time would be a great help. And if anyone doesn’t feel like becoming Buddy, people coming along to help distribute packs of tea and biscuits are also most welcome. Just an hour of someone’s time would make a big difference. Please email penny.naylor@bhcgodalming.org.

Easter Collection: Open Doors
Thanks to everyone for their generosity with our Easter appeal for Open Doors. We raised £5000 when you include gift aid, which is a great result.

Do you want to raise the profile of the church in Busbridge? And most importantly, do you have room in your front garden for a sign of your very own? If you’d like to find out more, please talk to Karen Kinder in the first instance.

Old Rectory Update
Great News! The Taylor family have completed their family move across the street to the new rectory, so we can press ahead with work to the Old Rectory.

We have issued an official request for tender to four different contractors, and expect to have their bids by the end of this month. On the financial side, thanks to your generosity we have raised enough money to complete the purchase of the Old Rectory site from the Diocese, however, we don't yet have enough funds to compete all of our planned building projects to Old Rectory, Church Cottage and the Church Centre. So please keep your standing orders and other giving in place!

BIG Spring Clean
The annual BIG Spring Clean is happening on Saturday 10th June at Busbridge Church (for those doubters amongst you, the date was googled and it still counts as ‘Spring’!). “But what does this involve?!” I hear you cry. An excellent question. We have all sorts of indoor, outdoor, gardening, painting, building jobs to do - it’s not all about dusting the pews! We also need people to help organise the scrumptious lunch that is always a highlight of the day. Children (under your watchful eye) are very welcome to join in - a couple of years ago a group of under 11s moved tonnes of earth for us! It’s a fun day and a great way of getting to know others. We need about 70 people to make the day work - so far we have had one, yes one, volunteer. So if your name rhymes with Ricky Lemery, well done to you! Can the rest of the potential eager volunteers please email karen.kinder@bhcgodalming.org ASAP as the job list is growing. Thanks!
