As holiday club approaches we need to rustle up a band of volunteers who can help with set up on Saturday 26th July and/or take down on Tuesday 29th July.  As you know, holiday club this year is bigger than ever, with an amazing 94 kids coming along.  It is going to be fantastic, but we do need a good number of bodies to help us get ready.

So if you can help at any of / all of the times below (or parts of) please can you let me know:

- Sat 26th : 09:00 to 13:00 – main set up hall, craft room, marquee on the school playing field, etc…

- Sun 27th: 09:00 to 10:45 – set up for Holiday Club Service in BJS playground

- Tues 29th: 15:30 to 17:00 – take down of everything (including marquee) and cleaning

We are keen to have lots of people so that we can get it done quickly.  Please don’t forget to volunteer for the take down clean and tidy up – often this is left to the people who have been working hard on holiday club and are tired out, so it would be great if you could come and join in with the clean-up.  I am leading the toilet cleaning team so hoping to get some of the best people to join me on that!!!

Thanks so much in advance for helping out.  In the meantime, something all of us can join in with is praying for the kids who are going to come to holiday club, for the leaders who will make it the best ever, and for the many people who have already put in lots of time and are helping out with holiday club.  Please pray that we all have a real encounter with God as we have fun learning about Him together…

Please get in touch with James Gibson if you can help 01483 421267

Occasionally we have had feedback from families at our 11.00am service that the timing of this service means younger children are getting quite tired and hungry by the end it. Members of the PCC, therefore, recently discussed the idea of changing the service times at Hambledon and it was agreed to move both services forward by half an hour. Thus, from September the Heritage/BCP service will move to 9.00am and the Contemporary service to 10.30am (with the exception of Messy Church services, which will remain at 11.00am for the remainder of the year). I am extremely grateful to the PCC and particularly those who normally attend the 9.30am service, for their gracious and generous-hearted suggestion and response to this issue, which will hopefully enable more young families to feel able to join us on Sundays.                                        Catherine McBride
